EMMERDALE resident Diane Sugden could soon be saying goodbye as the soap gears up for an explosive Christmas. Is everything going to go wrong when the clock strikes 12 and Victoria Sugden gives birth?
Emmerdale resident Victoria Sugden (played by Isabel Hodgins) has had a turbulent year and while she looks forward to welcoming her baby into the world this Christmas, there is a chance she is going to lose someone close to her simultaneously. It comes as Diane Sugden (Elizabeth Estensen) could depart the Dales in a sinister plot twist should she get in the way of Wendy Posner’s (Susan Cookson) evil plan.
Wendy moved into the village last week after she accepted a position at the local doctor’s surgery.
Understandably, Victoria and her family were left shaken and worried, unsure as to what her real motive was.
Despite this, the Woolpack chef is focussing on herself and the health of her baby, as she is due to give brith any day now.
And according to official soap spoilers, her baby boy is going to arrive just before, or after the new decade starts.
Determined to not let go of her youth, Victoria wants to ring in the New Year with a night out.
But she will end up leaving the party before the clock strikes 12 when her baby starts kicking.
Just in time with the fireworks exploding across the Dales, Victoria’s waters will break and she is rushed to hospital.
With Diane by her side, the young mother welcomes her son into the world and after a few moments of hesitation, she immediately falls in love with him.

Back at Mill Cottage, Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) shares the good news and everyone raises a glass.
After being discharged by the doctors and nurses, Victoria packs up, ready to leave for home with her baby.
But Diane is filled with worry about how Wendy is going to react when she finds out her grandson has been born.
Will the nurse be able to keep her distance? Or are Victoria’s problems only just beginning?
In a huge plot twist to kick off the New Year, Wendy could put her plan into action.
There have been many suggestions her, and her other son Luke Posner, are only sticking around to kidnap the baby the second they get the chance to.
And it seems Diane could be embroiled in the drama.
In former months, ITV viewers tuned in to see Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) rushed to hospital after tripping over and smashing her head on a rock.
To add to this, back in the summer, Lee Posner (Kris Mochrie), Victoria’s rapist and Wendy’s eldest son was put into a coma after being hit over the head with a spade by Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley).
Therefore, the smallest head injuries can sometimes lead to the most devastating consequences.
Could Diane find herself in a physical fight with Wendy only to trip and fall and end up dead?
